December’s first of only two games kicks off on Friday in Victoria.
The Vikes and Mariners will meet for the first time since November 10th, where UVic came away with the 4-2 victory.
UVic currently holds a 2-1-0 regular season record over the Mariners and will look to improve in the standings: they’re currently at the top of the league with a 7-2-0 record and 14 points, followed closely by the Lakers (6-4-1, 13pts) and the Mariners (6-3-0, 12pts). The Vikes will look to rebound after falling to the Logan Lake Miners in their first ever program win, putting 67 shots on net in a 4-3 loss that ended UVic’s six-game winning streak.
The Mariners enter Friday’s game after a dominant 14-4 victory over the Logan Lake Miners last Saturday. Forwards Brock Palmer, Logan Kurki, and Ethan Jones all netted hat tricks, while Jones and Kurki recorded a combined 14 points. Two of VIU’s 3 losses have come at the hands of the Vikes, and a win in Victoria will tie them for first place in the league.
