VICTORIA, BC – The British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League’s 2025 Championship Series gets underway starting on Thursday, March 6th in Victoria, BC.

The BCIHL is proud to partner with the Grant Gilbertson Memorial Foundation as co-host of the tournament and support its mission of providing scholarships for student-athletes, promoting physical and mental well-being, and fostering meaningful community connections through impactful events and programs in honor of the life, spirit and values of Grant Gilbertson.

The University of Victoria Vikes will host this year’s iteration of the 2025 BCIHL playoffs at The Q Centre and Juan De Fuca Recreation Centre.

The Championship Series will follow a 5-team, 5-game Page playoff system, with Game 1 between the #4 seeded Okanagan Lakers and #5 seeded Simon Fraser University Red Leafs facing off in a play-in round on Thursday, March 6th at 8:00pm PT.

On Friday, March 7th, Game 2 will see the #1 seeded Vancouver Island University Mariners take on the #2 seeded host University of Victoria Vikes at 10:30am, followed by Game 3 where the #3 seeded Logan Lake Miners will face the winner of Game 1 between Okanagan and SFU at 12:30pm.

Saturday’s Game 4 Semi-Final on March 8th will see the winner of Game 3 take on the loser of Game 2 at 12:30pm, and on Sunday, March 9th, a champion will be decided between the winner of Game 2 and the winner of Game 4.

SEASON NOTES

For the first time since the 2019/20 season, all five teams finished the regular season with at least 10 points, and the Logan Lake Miners finished their third campaign in a program best third place.

The defending champion Vancouver Island University Mariners finished atop the standings for the second year in a row, and will look to repeat as BCIHL champions. The host University of Victoria Vikes currently sit one short of the league leading Simon Fraser University with five BCIHL titles, and after a strong performance this season, they will look to retake the crown for the first time since 2017.
